Forgery: AGF meets senators, insists on Saraki, Ekweremadu’s trial

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, on Wednesday, justified the decision of his office to institute a legal action against the presiding officers of the Senate over the alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Order 2015.

Malami, who honoured the invitation of the Senate after three weeks the Upper Chamber passed a resolution to summon him over the matter,  also told the senators that his office was convinced that the suit should be prosecuted in the interest of public.

IOC acknowledges Toriola’s contributions to Olympics

Segun Toriola has etched the country’s name on the Olympic Games’ record as the most decorated table tennis player in the African continent. This follows a recent focus by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the Nigerian star.

In an article published on the IOC website on Momday, Toriola was described as a record breaking athlete, who is Africa’s most successful table tennis player of all-time.Toriola has been a regular feature in every Olympics since his debut at the 1992 Barcelona Games.

Fani-Kayode meets bail conditions, awaits EFCC verification

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, on Monday met his bail conditions but he was still awaiting verification of some documents by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A statement by Jude Ndukwe, the Media Adviser to the ex-minister, said Fani-Kayode was eager to reunite with his family.

The statement said: “Kindly be notified that Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has met all the conditions for his bail and the relevant documents have been duly filed and submitted at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Fresh insights into how a former Minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro allegedly loaded a chartered aircraft with N1, 299, 490b for transfer to Governor Ayodele Fayose through an associate, Abiodun Agbele has been revealed.

The cash was transferred through HS125-800 5N-BMT belonging to Gyro Air Limited.

Kachikwu hands over to NNPC new GMD, pledges support

Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources has pledged to support the new Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, in moving the corporation to greater heights.

Kachikwu gave the pledge while he handed over the affairs of the corporation to the new GMD on Friday.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Baru as the new GMD of the NNPC.
